Question:
A friend told me that it may be possible to get Polish/German freeview channels using a sky dish and digibox. I'm currently with Telewest Cable but would be happy to switch if I knew that i could get European channels too.
Does anyone know if this is true?
There is a lot of FTA German Channels and a few Polish ones but you would be better off keeping cable for british tv and getting a free to air digital receiver and a 90cm dish with 2 lnbs positioned at 19 & 13 degrees east to receive these fta channels, look up a few sat dealers on the net for idea's

How much is that likely to cost? If I go with Sky then net cost increase is only £100 (installation) as I would cancel my Cable subscription. This way I would get the dish and box for free.
I'd say it would cost around £200-£250 for this setup, Take a look at www.hisat.com for info & prices, have used this company for many years.
