Question:
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a dealer in London or online that sells older Mission speakers. After upgrading fronts and rears I am now looking for a 70c2 centre to replace the 70c1 I have at the moment. I am using 702e's for fronts and 70ds's for side and rear surrounds so I would prefer to stick with the 70 range.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Phil
Richer sounds might be able to find something. They have plenty of london stores and typically have plenty of end of line (or oldish) stock.
Yes, they have new too, I know...
Thanks A2,
I gave their stock enquiry line a call and they said they don't have one. It's beginning to look as if I've left finding this speaker too late.
I was in a similar situation a few months ago - 702e fronts, 701 rears, and an Paradigm centre that didn't match either aesthetically or acoustically ... I was after a 70c2 to match up exactly, but couldn't find one anywhere. I eventually bought an m7c2, which has proved to be a good sonic match, and looks pretty smart too. I'd recommend it to go with your setup - I got mine from http://www.discounttv.co.uk
Thanks for your advice Turnergw, it looks as if this is the only option for me now. Thanks also for the link, it looks like a good price.
Are you planning to flog on the 70c1 if you get a suitable replacement?
Sorry Gizmo, I am using on all my old kit to set up a system for my Dad. It's given me the excuse to upgrade various parts :)
No probs, worth a try. :)
The 77c1 may be worth a look too. Cracking speaker and goes fine with my 701's. Richer were doing these for £99.
[edit] looks like they've stopped them too, sorry :( .
Match well does it? I saw these centres in Richers too but wasn't sure how close it would be tonally - probably far closer than the crappy yamaha centre I have just now.
I'll keep an eye out for one. Ta.
Gizmo,
If you are still after the 70c1, I saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3034896556&category=3276 . Good luck with your bidding.
