Question:
I am looking to sell my 32KVFX20. One bought it from John Lewis in October 2000 with a 5 year warranty and it includes the stand. 32inches It has 2 scarts. 50Hz, Stereo Sound. Could anyone give one an idea ??
One does hope this is the right Forum for this
Ok right yes ok
I'd take a guess at around £400 - 450.
If you're very lucky. New 100Hz Sony's can be had for £700 new (from John Lewis with price-match and thus the 5 year warranty).
I just sold a 1999 KV28FX60 for £300 exc. stand (and that was a 100Hz model) in immaculate condition.
£400 would be a fair price but you'll do well to get it and certainly not on these forums (people are too clued up about online prices). Be prepared to take £300 because of the way flat-screen prices have dropped since launch in 1999.

They don't unless the web retailer in question also has a bricks and mortar shop.
There are now plenty of these around to take advantage of.

£300 would be too low compared to your 28" though.
I reckon most people would rather have a 32" over the 100 hz, especially joe public.
If it was me (and it might be soon :D ) I would put it in the local Freeads for about £550 and see what you can get.
Personally I wouldn't sell for less than £400 with a preference for £450.
I know what you're saying, but I wouldn't pay £450+ for a 3 year old 50hz set when they can be had new for under £700. The difference just isn't great enough. 50Hz 32" Pannys can be had for £550-600 online.
Remember as well that 100Hz is one of the "buzz-words" that Joe Public might well be after. Agreed about stickingit in Freeads though - if you're going to get a good price that'll be the way to do so.
In fairness, and I choke on the compliment, but you're a discerning buyer so you wouldn't pay that.
And you're a tight fisted *******.
When I stand and listen in AV depts to people looking at TV's I can't say I've heard very many at all, if any, talk about 100hz, except when the comedy salesman says "You want 100hz because it's, er, twice as good as 50hz" :dork:
Given the choice between a bigger screen and a 100hz picture I reckon most would plump for the screen size, in fact so would I come to think of it!
Except don't the 100Hz TVs have additional features over the 50hz models that might be worth the extra? in terms of the new Panasonics that includes split screen / teletext memory?

Yes although if prsented with a choice between the larger screen (and still a very very good picture) and split screen etc I'd take the larger screen.
I hate trying to sell on my old gear. I think you'd be lucky even to get 400 bearing in mind that I've just bought a Sony 32ls35 for 420 delivered. K, so it's graded and doesn't include the stand, but it's still got 12 months guarantee and it's a newer tv. The 32ls60 with the 100Hz can be had for about 50/75 squids more IIRC.
Best to sell it in the local paper anyway. Net heads should be able to find the cheaper deals better than the joe bloggs who buys the yellow papers!
