Question:
Hi total Noob here, probably asking an age old question...
i have a Daewoo 9000S5 Multi-region DVD and a pretty bog standard Tv, which are wired together via the scart on my video player....
what the problem is is that i find with some region 2 dvd's that i have resolution problems...
playing a (multilayer) JFK R2 dvd i had a problem similar to mistracking on a video player- i got a colour picture but the brightness kept cahnging and the picture flickering...
similarly my simpsons series boxset (again r2) suffers from the colour brightness problem- it flickers very intermittently but the colour problem plagues the whole disk...
my question is: do you think its my tv? its pretty small and cheap and am wondering if i got one which is both pal/nsct compatipable that it would get rid of the problem...my friend has experienced this before and said it was the tv but thought id ask the experts....
cheers

It sounds like a macrovision problem. The VCR is reacting to this (if I read you correctly and you are passing the DVD signals through it). Try connecting the DVD directly to the TV and see if you still get the problem
Dave
It sounds like it's either a macrovision problem or a faulty scart cable.
Yep, I'll go for macrovision in the VCR. Take it out of the 'loop'.
sorted, you were right, unfortunately my tv has no scart so have to get a new one or a modulator but was expecting to have to shell so no worries...
thanks all...
