Avia Calibration disk
Question:

Is this disk region coded? Don't really see a reason why it should be, but just did a check on dvdpricecheck and all said Region 1

Answers:

Not sure - but there's a guy flogging them over at www.avforums.com for £25..

Answers:

Thanks Bapapapa will have a look there :)

Answers:

Just found out it's Region free :)

Answers:

It may not be region coded but will it callibrate a PAL display ?

Answers:

Display calibration is to NTSC standards & the signal is NTSC so your tv will be optimised for NTSC transmissions. My plasma looks good in PAL after the process though - worthwhile I'd say

What is there to adjust in a plasma that requires the likes of Avia - convergance, geomerty ?

Answers:

The video calibration is OK, more suited to NTSC, but it's useable.
The real helpful bit, for me anyway, is the audio calibration steps on the disc. A SPL meter is pretty essential, though..

What's an SPL meter?
