Question:
I am looking for a high quality lead of about 10 to 15 metres in length for my KEF sub.
Does anyone know of any particular make which has a good write up?
I have Ixos 6003 speaker cable, but am unsure as to wether Ixos make a sub cable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I bought one of these from HifiStore - IXOS 1081 (http://www.hifistore.co.uk/product.php?qsProd=1081900)
Seems the longest they sell is 9m - email Gary and ask.
Whats the difference between this one and the one listed at Homecinemaheaven.com for £19.99?

It comes with a y-splitter...
Ah right I can see now, will the splitter make much difference to the sound?
Ixos cables are good but also consider Scorpion cables (www.scorpioncables.com) - they are custom made and perform superbly well :)
Use a Y-splitter if your sub manual specifies it.
With the "Y" lead from Hifistore, can you detach the "y" part and just have a single phono?
yes.

He asked for high quality ;)
Do you use that cable for your sub Squirrel?
That is a ridiculous amount for a sub lead.

Nope, 'cause I feel it would be overkill to match cables of that quality with my sub (Mission 70ASE) and my receiver (Yamaha HTR5540RDS). Plus, as you can see from my gear, I'm a cheapskate :D
I do have one of their coax cables on the way though :)

I've seen a lot worse £150 per metre :gag:
Damn, that better be some good cable.
Yeah apparently quite a few music and film studio's use the same grade of cable worldwide, like George Lucas' Lucasfilm.
