Question:
ER-4P MicroPro Earphones by Etymotic Research.
Any one know what these sound like, I'm looking for a very good sound without looking like a walking DJ. (I walk and listen to music a lot) I know they are expensive, but are they worth the price.
If you have had chance to use them, what do you think?
Thanks
Sorry if this has been asked before!!
Roy.
Have a look over at www.headfi.org. They rate them highly but they are very expensive IMO.
Thanks Radiohead.
I'll get reading.
They sound very good, if very expensive.
Any one used them at all?
Thanks
Roy.
nah, thought about it a while back but they need to be "molded" to the ear and sent back again to have the plastic part made so they fit perfectly to *your* ear. i couldnt find an english distributer at the time.
Thanks Frustin.
I've not heard that. I do know that you have to get a good seal to the ear to improve the bass, but I've never read that you need to send them off for molding. I think the soft plastic moulds to your ear.
There is a thread on head-fi that asks whether these are from god or merely very over rated and over priced. Most people suggested they were sent from heaven!
www.pjbox.co.uk supply them in the UK.
They just appear VERY expensive!!!
Any more thoughts
Please
Bear in mind that most of the members of head-fi are uber-geeks when it comes to 'phones, and seem to spend much of their lives in the endless quest for perfect 'phones.
Personally, as good as they may be, I just think they're too expensive for what they are. For that money you could buy a set of Sennheiser MX500 in-ears (£18 or so and very good) and a decent set for home use (HD600's can be had for £100 now, and were £200 originally - fabulously comfortable). Or for mobile use a set of PX200's (at £40). The PX200's are supra-aural but are very discreet and fold away when not in use. Incredibly good sound as well.
Jesus! I've just seen the price of them - £269!!!! That's just nuts. I cannot see how they are worth it.
