Question:
I got the excellent "Video Esssentials" dvd, i am tring to use it to calbarate my Sony KV32LS35 tv settings.
However when im asked to change the sharpness and hue settings i cannot because they are not selectable !
I am using personal settings profile on the tv.
PLease can any Sony tv users help me ?
Hue only relates to an NTSC (ie R1) signal IIRC.....I could be wrong though.
Sharpness should be selectable though.

You are right HUE is related to NTSC but that shouldent affect me from changing the settings for it, as i was able to do so with my 6 year old 29" Sony using the same dvd player etc.
Sharpness is not selectable  which is strange aswell.
Are other Sony tv users able to change these settings ?
With AVIA DVD playing, I can't change sharpness settings. With just the TV on then there is no problems in setting sharpness.

Oh yeah i just tried it now ! i cant use sharpness + Hue with the Video Essentials but can use sharpness on tv mode.
Still cant figure out how my old tv was capable of changing sharpness and hue within Video Essentials
How are you connecting your DVD player to the Tv?
It's not unusual for component/rgb sources to by-pass some or all of the colour/sharpness/hue controls on the TV set.

Well i have connected the dvd player to the tv through RGB scart. (TV)AV1 to TV Out scart socket on dvd player.
You can't adjust some of the controls when connected via RGB on the LS35, but there is a "cheat" ;)
Simply switch to a non-RGB channel, make the changes, then switch back to RGB and you'll see your changes are effective :)
