Question:
Ok heres the crack, I have a 6.1 system am am currently using a pair of Mission M78DS bipolars as my side surrounds. I want to add a centre back (single) but am not sure which kind of speaker to get.
It needs to be very slim as it will be close to the sofa, so I was thinking of adding another Mission bipolar. This would be ideal for my setup, but I'm concerned because I've read that centre rears in 6.1 systems should not be bipolar if you are only using one. Is this rule set in stone or is it open to abuse like nearly all HC setup 'laws'?
I simply cannot go on not using my amps 6.1 feature any longer.
:suspect:
I personally think that a bipolar makes a lot of sense as a single rear, as it tends to give a wider spread and the impression of using two centre-rears (as per the proper spec). I use a 77DS as my centre-rear stuck to the wall and find it works very well indeed.
SOLD!
Thats the speaker I was thinking of using. I think I'll go for it now
i always thought it should be the same as the centre speaker...but then as you say the space its gotta go in is different.
I use a Mission bi polar. Amazing
SOLD again :)
yep....me too.I've got two m7ds,as centre rears
Another vote here for the M7DS speakers. I have a row of three of them above my sofa and I love them. :)
There's a trend developing here you probably spotted it and it's the advice I would give. Try and use the same speaker as the surround left and rights. That way, panning will sound even...
