Freeview & RGB
Question:

Can someone tell me which freeview boxes have RGB output? If it's not mentioned in the spec, can I assume it's not featured?
2 scarts is important as well.

Answers:

The Thomson box certainly does have both RGB and twin SCARTS as does the Nokia.

Answers:

Grundig has 2 scarts with 1 being RGB enabled.

According to Curys web site, the Grundig GDT1500 has digital output but is cheaper than the GDT2000, which dosen't. Does anyone know if the GDT1500 is any good? Prefer the look of the 2000, but the digital output could be useful.

Netgem I-Player (http://www.netgem.com) can output RGB/SVIDEO/Composite and Component via TV SCART output and has a second SCART socket (AUX) to output to a VCR and when the I-Player is in standby it does RGB passthru on the AUX SCART, I have one of those Argos RGB Scart switchers plugged into AUX SCART of my I-player so that I can play my Xbox/PS2 and Gamecube as I never VCR things since getting a DVD Recorder.
And an added bonus you can surf the web and do emails on I-Player either via dialup or with a USB Ethernet Adaptor you access the web/email via broadband :) , I know people will say but you have a PC for doing this but it is nice to be able to surf the web on your big TV screen now and again.
Though it does cost a £30 more than the average £99 price point of most FTA boxes but for some added features I thought it was worth it and RGB output on I-Player is very good.

Goodmans has RGB - it's the only way I can get a colour picture on an old faulty Sony set I have had for the last 15 years.

I also don't like the remote very much, but that's probably just a matter of preference. Main downside, from my point of view, is that it doesn't have audio outputs so can't put piped through an amp (this is why I use it on my bedroom telly rather than on the main one which has a "re-engineered" Philips On-Digital box).
*edit* Actually, unless they've changed the spec. since I got mine, it doesn't have a digital output.
*edit2* No mention of digital outputs here (http://www.hifichoice.co.uk/review_print.asp?ID=2365) either.
