Obviously if you get a high quality scart leads then they will improve your home cinema experience, but the high street prices can get "high" (excuse the pun).
Does anyone trust the cables on ebay? I know some private sellers can be a bit dodgy, but there are some people who have massive positive feedback, and are selling large quantities stuff, but the cables seem to be a rediculously low prices.
Fully wired, flat ribbon, gold plated, fullly shielded and sometimes under a £5.
Should I go for them rather than a high street shop?
I recently bought an IXOS 126AV 1.5m Scart cable on eBay (from a seller with very positive feedback).
Added it to my system - between DVD and TV - last night and am very happy with the results.
It wasn't anywhere near the low cost cables you have seen, but it was £20 (£17.50 + £2.50 P&P) rather than the typical online price which seems to be upwards from £34. A good saving in my opinion.

Same here I got an Ixos gold plated 3m cable for about 25 quid delivered, excellent it is too.
Don't remember seeing any for as low as a fiver, are you sure that the auctions actually finish that low?

Haven't had any experience of Ebay but I got a "high end" BTech X range 1.5 mtr OFC flat ribbon cable from www.beyondhifi.net at just over £10 inc VAT and delivery. Same cable is almost double that in high street chains. If you go to that site, make sure you select the special offers at the bottom of the page. Good Hunting
Got myself a QED RGB Sqart, looks and feels indestructible. The picture quality from it is sharp and has real depth. Only £42!
