The HD580's are better than either than you mention and can be had for £80 online. They were originally £200.
Grado's are lovely retro-looking cans, although people seem to be either Sennheiser or Grado fans. The sound was a little airy and lightweight for me but they certainly sound natural and open. As RDZNL said in the thread you started in the music forum, the only way to find out is to demo.
