Question:
Does anyone know a good place to buy (online) Denon DVD players multi - region?

whether you'd want to buy one or not though, is the question.
the 3800 is no longer available it seems, and the 2800 mkII is not a good player at all.
what player were you looking to buy? the rest of the range are fairly average or overpriced in comparison to competitors now.
I have to say I would love to buy one and I'm sure a good one would be great but I'd spend your money on something else.
Im just looking for a decent Prog scan player that ISNT a Harmon Kardon player.
PAL prog isn't essential but it would be nice.
I was thinking of buying the new Sony 999 or maybe the 930 player, but have already seen mediocre reviews for the Sony 999 which stated its an average player.
what's the problem with the hk dvd 25? apart from looks obviously. :)
philips 963? picture is fabulous for me, with no faults like the Denon 2800 and mkII had.
be interesting to see how the new cheap Sony is, though the deinterlacing chipset wont be faroudja or sil quality.

Well the 905 is lovely and if the 930 is as good with prog as with interlaced it will do very nicely and at £279 it's a steal.

May I ask why? I have the hk2550 (silver version of the 25) and it is just perfect feeding my 42" plasma a pal prog signal. way better than my very good tosh 220e.
I think the pioneer 656 can do NTSC prog and get modified to PAL prog to.

no, only the US version of the pioneer 656 can do progressive scan, not the european version. so no progscan, not even ntsc.
philips 963 is working fine for me, no problems. comparable de-interlacing than a 2800/ 3800 and better than hk dvd 25.
