Freeview signal from roof aerial + sky box through aerial amp?
Question:

I'm thinking about getting a freeview box upstairs, but I'm not sure if the Sky box downstairs will interfere with the reception like it seems to on standard terrestrial channels. I have a mounted aerial on the roof which is attached to an aerial amp along with the sky box so the signal plugged into the freeview box will be the amped signal from the aerial and the sky box.
Does anyone know if this will work and have a similar setup, or will the sky signal interfere with the reception and make the freeview box not worth buying??
Cheers for any help/advice

Am I right in assuming that you are "feeding" the RF output from a downstairs located Sky Digibox to an upstairs TV ? If so, what I think you need to do first is change the RF channel number on the Digibox to one which isn't used in your area. You can change to RF channel number on the Digibox by accessing the so called "Hidden menu" by pressing Services on the Sky remote, select option 4 (System set up) then enter 01. That will bring you into the hidden menu. From there you are able to change various settings including the RF channel number. If you want to feed the signal both from the aerial and the RF output from the Digibox, into a TV, then you need to connect both cables to an RF combiner. I got mine from Maplins but any decent aerial installers retail outlet should be OK. The Freeview box should then be OK to connect in a "daisy chain" Best of Luck!
