How to reset an ITV digital box
Question:

Can you?
The box in question is a Philips, and is screwed up, as there are loads of BBC1's and other old ITV digital stuff. How can we restore the factory settings and start from new?
For anyone who posts "RTFM", we havn't got it, ok?:D

No, tried that. Next!

Take the old card out if you haven't already and chuck it away! Then reset/restart the box, and (via the menu) do a fresh channel search - this should get all the Freeview channels for you :)

Thanks, will try that. So you don't need the card anymore?

Nope - and leaving it in will stop you getting the Freeview channels AFAIK!

Tried that. Didn't work. The key is finding out how to actually reset the thing. Turning it off then on doesn't work.

Once you've binned the On/ITV Dig. card you need to do a 'Store Channels' rather than 'Add Channels' (think it's under 'Installation' menu), this will clear all existing channels from the box's memory and scan for the 'new' Freeview channels.
Should pick up about 50 'channels' in total (some of these are radio or text services, not all viewing channels).
