Question:
See link below..the left/right speakers and not very big but I can't move them any further with the wall..do you think they could cause problems at that distance as they are not magnetically sheilded AFAIK?

No they should be fine, ive got massive (unshielded) speakers less than 18" from the tv, and have never had any problems.:)

From the point of view of stray magnetic fields - if your TV exhibits colour staining problems, then they are too close. If it doesn't, then they are far enough away.
From a 'purist' point of view (ie, the presentation of the sound in conjunction with the picture) they are probably too close together - ideally they should be around 6 feet apart - but, as you say, with this positioning you have litle choice.
I'd say that the speaker on the left is way too close to the chimmney breast as you can clearly see some purple staining as a result. :D
I've got exactly the same problem with my setup in terms of front speakers which are only around 4ft apart but then life is full of compromises.
I know..I had them 6 feet apart in 3 apartments and another house but as you say..life is full of compromises..still sounds good though!
BTW the colour around the fire place is actually a light brown! Does looks purple in that pic though. :eek:
