Question:
I could do with something to back movies up onto from my Sky+ box and hate vhs. Are TIVO's still available? Or do anyone else make a similar thing?
why not stick a bigger HD in the Sky+ box?
or a dvd recorder maybe.
Lots of people make tivo boxes in the states, and they also have a competitor replaytv.
We now have pace's free view dual tuner box but thats only got 20gb.
Apart from that no:(
Though there are a number of dvd recorder and hd combo machines coming soon, and to be honest I'd rather have one of these than some box trying to piegon hole me.

I have one of them, its great as I can use my PC hard drive space as storage by running a Java program which emulates another ReplayTV PVR and they have the ability to stream shown from each other anyway :)
How about the Panasonic HD recorder : I forget the model number ?
Pretty sure Samsung do one too now, too.
I'll have a look on the Panny and Samsung sites....
I've got 120 Gb in my Sky+, but it'd give me more flexibility to be able to store some programs on another platform. VHS just isn't good enough.
I use a panasonic E50 dvd-ram recorder for archiving from my Tivo, works a treat, and because you can delete (using the built in editing facilities) advert breaks and get back the time for new recordings, you can squeeze a lot more in than you'd expect.

The Thomson looks interesting, but there wasn;t any info on the Tosh link. Is it a dvd recorder? Couldn't find anything on the Tosh site.
More info on the tosh but a tad more expensive. Still cheaper than the panny hs2 and with a bigger hard drive.
