Question:
The TV I had in my study (a 21" 4:3 samsung) has started to turn itself off after a reasonable stint (it seems to be an overheating issue because the longer it is off for, the longer it will subsequently last before it dies again).
I've been looking for a replacement - of similar size, and I've come accross the Philips 21PT4457 - but I can't tell if this will support 60Hz or not - a must for my gamecube and DVD playing!
Does anyone have any other recommendations - as the title says, £200 is my limit, so I'm obviously not looking for a big name, or a widescreen set.
Thanks in advance!
Ah, and if anyone knows what might be wrong with my old set - even better!
I bought an Alba 21" 4:3 tv a few years ago and it supports 60HZ mine was £100 then from Tesco. It was only a mono and 1 scart socket but still going strong. I have a Goodmans downstairs which also does 60hz has 2 scarts and is nicam stereo and that was £150 last year.
Hope this was of help.

I would say that most new 4:3 TVs will support 60hz and yes Tesco would be a good place to find an ultra cheap one
Unbeatable.co.uk list the philips as 50Hz:
"Philips 21PT4457 (51cm) 50Hz Television:"

Comet say that it can handle NTSC - does that mean I can play zelda at 60Hz?!?
You shouldnt have any problems playing Zelda on it in 60HZ especially if it can cope with NTSC. Most Tv's these days can deal with 60hz and if a tv is advanced enough for NTSC then it will most definitely cope with 60hz. A few dvd players output NTSC pictures in 60hz Pal instead of Ntsc because it is more likely for a tv in this country to be able to display it.

Possibly larger than you're looking for but I have a Sony 29X1 Nicam TV (29" 4:3) I'm looking at selling. In my dining room, hardly used. Complete with manual, remote control and basic stand.
£195 delivered.
LMK if interested.
Cheekster.
