Question:
A friend has just bought one of these sets. Its being fed RGB from Sky Digital. Whilst watching the snooker this afternoon, my attention was drawn to the airbrush type smearing that followed the cueball after a shot. Also, some picels would change shade on reasonably still images (the green of the table).
My TV is a 32 inch 50Hz BTW.
HAs anyone noticed such "digital" behaviour before? Is this SKY or is it 100Hz?
I had, somehow, accidentally switched on DNR when I played back The Matrix - I was shocked at the "smearing" effect, as you described it. In not knowing what I had inadvertantly done, I was very glad to discover what the problem was. What was the lesson to be learned? Switch off all digital processing modes!
BTW, I was using a Tosh 36" TV with Tosh 520e in prog scan mode. Those digital smearing effects are the stuff of nightmares
