Question:
Right guys I am in need of some technical advice and recommendations. In my room filled with costly technology, I have but one problem. My home cinema. I have the Panasonic SCHT75 (http://www.panasonic.co.uk/product/homecinemasystem/SCHT75.htm) which is not bad, and does its job moderately well, but there are alot of nags I have with it. Firstly the volume, its 380 Watts, but maxed out sounds more like 100 Watts. Another issue is the sound quality at higher volumes, and then the MAJOR one...the horrible fuzz and hiss noice present, pretty much all the time. Maybe its becasue its an intergrated DVD/HomeCinema, I dont know but it is driving me nuts. Anyway downstairs we have the top of the range Sony HTDDW840S (http://products.sony.co.uk/pro_runproducts.asp?pid=1180&ShowRange=Yes&Percentage=100&New=No&Cat=Home+Entertainment&subCat=Home+Cinema+Kits&Ire=&CatID=9&sProdName=HTDDW840S) and this one is a beauty. 600 Watts of pure quality sound bliss. Subwoofer, that actually sounds like a subwoofer...unlike mine...and sound without the fuzz or hiss even at maxed out volumes, and speaking of volume, this thing is deafening. So as you can imagine, I never use mine anymore, just venture downstairs to watch my DVD's.
So guys, this is where I need help. I have £400 to spend, any idea's of a very good HC system and DVD seperate I can get my mitts on for that price? I could get the same model as the Sony one downstairs, but I want to be original at least. But I do want something with the same quality, ambiance and loudness. Any help would be very much appreciated, and any websites you can link me to, products etc....
Cheers
How about one of those JVC 6.1 home cinema setups for about £440.

Its meant to be a beaut but I suppose 30watts per channel ain't a lot. Alternatively a Pioneer DCS303 will give a higher output of 75 watts per channel although only from 5.1 channels.
Really in a bedroom any system should be able to generate enough volume unless its one of the joke 5-10 watts per channel systems.
Is the subwoofer working on the panasonic? How much does it output per channel?

The sub is fine, it does its job quite well really. But the subwoofer sound, just sounds like standard bass compaired to the Sony one downstairs. But the 5 speakers (FL FR C & SL SR) have that irritating fuzzy noise coming from them, even on a low volume. Alot of intergrated Home Cinema's are like that, as well as most Hi-Fi's. On full volume, say if I am playing a CD, it sounds quite good, but not what you'd expect from a £350 system. I just want a HC without the DVD player, so I will sell this one off, and get a new one. The Sony one is just in a totally different League, and only cost about £375, but there is SO much difference between them in every way.
