Question:
I've bought a load of Hi-Fi Gear today from Richer Sounds, it was my first time :norty:
Anyway I got a Gale Moviestar 7 sub and a Yamaha RX-V430RDS AV Reciever and the guy said I needed a sub cable to run it which I bought (It looks like a thick phono cable). Now the socket on the Amp is fine but the Sub looks like this on the back.

So my question is do I have to put the cable in the left or right socket, or can I take it back tomorrow strangle the guy with it and get a different cable and is there the name to the cable as well so I make sure I get the right one this time.
Put it in either. Subs are mono anyway but have a L&R for amps without a sub out I think. You can always get a splitter if you are that bothered.
Cheers for that :notworthy:
I thought it would be that, shame its a bit late to test its powers
:)
Use a Y-Adapter.
As Squirrel God suggests, the Y Adapter is the most common route to choose for ease and peace of mind for signal 'sharing' from the two outs. Oh, and they are el cheapo too.;)
Tested in today on The Matrix and it seems to be working fine just sticking it in the left input, unless it going to make a difference using a Y-Adpater I'll stick with how it is now.
It will make no difference at all.
Cheers, Brock.

Where do I get one of them £5 jobbie mentioned in the other thread from then? If not then something round £15 will do.
Got mine plugged in the "Right" socket as per the manual for my REL Q50 - for mono connection.
Never tried it with a splitter.
Those £5 Profigold ones from Squirrel God's AV Forums link are great quality.
I searched AV and google been round the usual suspects and still can't find anywhere that sells one. Maplin seem to have one for £2.99 but I doubt it will be much cop, decent quality cable in cheap crap :gag: I would love the person who could supply a link to a decent online shop selling them, for the rest of my life or not whatever floats you boat :)

I'm sure they will be able to sell you these.
