Question:
I have recently had a change arround in my front room and without thinking I put the HiFi speakers fairly near the TV. When I switch the TV on now its got a big pink bit in the bottom corner!!! How do I get rid of it? Is it possible?
Turn it off by the button on the front then turn it back on .... try it a few times should shift it :)
Oh and you have to move the speaker ;)

Heh, yeah I moved the speaker, i'll try that when I get home from work.
Thanks :)
If that doesn' work (it usually does), you can it repaired. Don't know how much its costs though :)
Sony TV's degauss the screen when you turn the TV on. You may need to do it a few times.
no problem...its a hitachi 32 inch widescreen if that makes any difference.
AFAIK, all CRT CTVs degauss when switched on from cold. So it should clear itself - maybe after a few goes.
Not older ones, but most modern ones probably do - if it makes a sortof loud "boing!" sound when it powers up, then it's done a degauss.
My Sony seems to do it every time I power it up or take it out of standby, hot or cold. Which I'm sure it's not supposed to do, but so far, no problems.

Mine (KV28FX60) makes the boinging sound every time it comes out of standby as well.
MY 28DX20 Sony TV does the degaussing sound every time the TV is switched on from standby or after I switched it off properly.
A previous Sony TV also did it, so I think we can assume it is a normal thing to do.
Well, that sets my mind at ease :) I thought I saw something on that KV32-Tweak site that said it should only do it if it's cold...
