Question:
OK so my VCR died so I decided to get new one - I have sooo many videos.
My question is this are the VCR/DVD player combos any good or would it be better to buy a VCR and DVD player separate. Any product recommendations?
REMOVED
One final question - DVD players, are the good enough yet for regular day to day usage to replace the VCR?
Phew! Thanks for your help
Although you say this is for legitimate use, requesting this info on here is against the T&C's

Although the item is not specigically designed for copying, you are not supposed to post information on how to copy DVD's to VHS. Please check the T&C's
I have got the Panasonic NVHS880 vcr that records at S-VHS quality and the Philips DVD 733. They are separates but I would suggest would enable you to record excellent digital TV on the VCR and keep have the DVD quality playback facility. And all this would cost less than £330.
This is a good £150 cheaper than a single DVD+RW recorder. As for transfering your DVD movies to Video see the previous post - I haven't tried it but it looks feasible.
All the best,

Thanks for the info so far, not too much substance though :(
Does anyone have an opinion? Please, please help before I make an impulse purchase I'll regret
