Question:
I think mine's in trouble (the front casing has come loose and no cards are working). It's all under warranty but I'm going to have a big problem trying to get a replacement '760, aren't I ? Oh, tell me I'm wrong ?
Mike.
Someone tell me something what they know...
Sky told me a few weeks ago, that they no longer sell? / use these boxes. You can still get them.
try checking out susat.co.uk. they might offer a warranty, it might depend where you bought it in the first place.
If you want one you will be unable to source from $ly, so if it's a warranty job you may find $ly replace it with a Pace ( the new ones are actually pretty good ).If you insist on a 760 then you will likely have to purchase one at retail from a dealer.
But my only reason for buying a $ky subscription was to get this box, I stipulated this at the time to the local shop and they got me one (i.e., it was a condition of sale). Now it's busted I only want a Sony 760 to replace it as that was my 'deal', IYSWIM.
If I find a local shop (or one anywhere on Earth for that matter) with some still available then shirley I might be able to point $ky at them ?
Mike.
Bottom line is $ly no longer supply them.Only other option is to purchase one at retail.Sorry.
As a point of interest, i recently saw a 760 on a shelf in Currys, with a price ticket of £500 odd  , i kid you not.
But $ky never supplied a particular digibox by request; it was potluck when the installer turned up, wasn't it ? If mine's considered kaput then I'm thinking that I can find a shop with one (NITB) and point $ky at 'em for my replacement, or offer to cover the carriage myself.
IOW, when $ky get mine sent off for investigation/repair I make sure that it goes to a shop which can replace a '760 with a '760, if need be. Though, obviously if mine just needs parts that'd be okay too.
Oh, and Mr.Lynx Sir, where was this Currys ? I doubt it would scan through at that price, the rrp was only ever £299 wasn't it ?
