Cheap-ish upgrade to free SCART lead?
Question:

Having just invested in a Nokia Mediamaster Freeview box, I want to upgrade the cheap n nasty SCART lead it came with.
I aint got megabucks to spend - any suggestions on a replacement SCART that doesnt cost the earth, yet would be a noticable improvement?

Answers:

I notice there is a Richer Sounds in Chester. Wander down there and buy to your buget. Prices start from around a tenner I think.
Good Luck :)

If you can stretch to about 17 you can't go too wrong with a Vivanco Pro-Wire range or Techlink. Good SCART leads will last forever if treated right, so the 35 quid on an Ixos/QED now may give you years of viewing quality for the extra cost of a big Pizza.

ARD Electronics have good, cheap scarts.

At a wee bit more you've got the Thor leads from Maplins at £30, What HiFi raved about them, I noticed a significant upgrade.

If you have a Wilkinson store near you they sell a Maxview digital scart lead for £4.99.
This has gold plated connectors, double screened OFC cable and the plugs are moulded on at the ends. It is excellent quality for the money.
Paying more than this gets you very little noticable improvement (gold plated connectors and efficient screening are the main needs for a decent scart cable).
EDIT.. from the wilko.co.uk website , i see there is a wilkinson store in Chester.
