Question:
Ok guys and girls, which would you buy and why? The Marantz has 6 discrete amps in it, which must be nice for sound quality and has a higher power rating than the Denon, but the Denon does component video switching as well as lots of other stuff, but is lower in power.
Also, the Marantz is said to have a sound delay when selecting a source, I don't think the Denon has this problem.
Any advice?
EDIT: Changed to 3802 and 7300 now... Don't ask.
Any more advice?

Early SRx2xx models had a problem which marantz fixed under warranty, but none of the current UK sourced models have any problems. Also consider the Pioneer VSXD1011, a somewhat overlooked model due to the 2011 getting all the reviews, despite almost being identical!
HTH?
I have a Denon, and as you say Lower in Power -- Dont let that stop you, my Living room is about normal size, and I cannot even use 50% Volume as I think it would blow the windows out and I would receive complaints from 3 streets away LOL
I have had my 2802 about 6 months and it till brings a smile when I crank it up == as for the Marantz never had one so cannot obviously comment
I've got the Marantz SR5200, even at only 6x90W power, it still churns out effortless power and has a warm full bodied sound.
The Denon, from reviews, probably sound less warm than the Marantz. Both good IMO.
UP? Any more advice? Now looking at the 3802 (at 500 quid from Sound and Vision) or 7300 (at 530 quid from HCH...)

Marcw,
heres a thought for you. Do you really need the additional features (extra 10 watts, and component switching) of the 7300? IMO I`d say go for the SR6300 and save a few notes, its not much different, and even comes with the same learning remote;) Plus its just had a half decent review.
Just a thought....
The Denon has a learning remote control as well as the Marantz. You have to listen to both with your chosen speaker package and then you choose.
Contar
PS I have Denon 3802 with Kef Q series speakers and it sound great. I am very pleased with my Denon.
