Question:
In preparation for when we move, I'm looking a getting a sub / sat speaker set for the living room.
While I know that the Kef Eggs are very highly regarded, I'm not really prepared to spend much more than £300 - £400. I've been looking at what Richer Sounds have got and would appreciate any adive.
Unfortunatly, the missus really doesn't like the NXT style speakers like the Mission sets so I really need something with normal small speakers - ideally the pod style ones, like the eggs.
Can anyone recommend anything within my price range or any other places that are worth looking. They'll be driven by a Denon 1602 if that makes any difference.
Thanks
Don't spend £3-400 on any speakers richer sell, save up the difference and go for the better system.

Its not that that's all I can afford, I just don't want to spend more than that. I've set a limit and I'm happy with it.
I know that the more I spend, the better set I'm going to get but I could keep going higher until I get to silly money so I've decided on £400.
I like the look of these Mission speakers:-

Anyone heard them yet? They were reviewed in the March issue of Home Cinema Choice - anyone got a copy and can scan the review in or give me the jist of what they thought. Unfortunately the April issue is already in the shops!
Thanks again.
Have you looked at the Acoustic Energy Aego P5 system? I think someone reported them going for about £400 in Curry's recently.

What Hi-Fi Feb 2003 p24
FOR - Good tonal balance, styling will appeal to some.
AGAINST - Soft bass, thin treble.
VERDICT - Appealing package, average performance.
Richers are stocking the discontinued FS2-AV set-up for the same price & this older set gets better reviews but maybe doesn't look as cute/compact as the m7's - you pay's your money...
Theres a guy on the avforums selling a set of kef eggs for £500 if you can stretch that far.
