Question:
I'm a huge beverly hills 90210 fan (i know, the shame!!) and they've only shown the last season in the US. Its not released on video/dvd there or here but ebay shows you can buy copies of the season that people have taped.
Now these would be us recordings so would i be able to watch them here.
My video does say it is NTSC compatable, but what do i need to look for in my tv? ANything in particular. Its a 4 month old sharp 28" widescreen so not a bad tv.
And finally, would the quality be awful even with the right video and tv or would it be watchable?
Thanks
Catherine
If your TV is only four months old, I reckon you won't have any problems.
The quality should be perfectly watchable - broadcast NTSC has a deservedly lousy reputation (it isn't called Never Twice the Same Colour for nothing), but NTSC VHS is largely indistinguishable from its PAL cousin to the naked eye.
Obviously, we're talking VHS quality, but every time I watch a VHS tape (and I'm watching more VHS than DVD these days for professional reasons), I'm always surprised at how not-bad it is given all the anti-VHS hype round these parts!
thanks for that, quaility isn;t really a big deal to me, i can hardly tell the difference when watching tivo in basic to tivo in high most of the time!!

You'll more than likely find if you read the instructions that came with your video that it will output PAL60 as well as NTSC. (In the instrutions it will probably be worded something like "NTSC video on a PAL TV") If you therefore did have a problem with normal NTSC on your TV, then you should be able to try another option.
Go for it:thumbs:
