I don't believe it is possible. Similar questions were asked about the 852 a year or so ago, and I never saw a positive response.
If you can get hold of the firmware file, it should be possible to use an excellent utility called Firmtweak to create your own :)
Or you could buy a decent player from elsewhere, no worries about the tesco helpline then.
