Question:
Before I splash out on a DVD recorder, (probably a Philips DVR880) I have a question re: blank media.
Does the same situation apply to blank DVD-R's as applies to blank CD-R's? Namely, that you cannot burn one of those "100 for £25 from PC World, for computer use only" in a domestic CD recorder and so have to buy the (ahem) more expensive "for music only" branded items?
I ask, having seen bulk blank DVD-R's for sale on various websites, at fairly reasonable prices. These are obviously for use in a PC's DVD-RW drive, but could I use them in a domestic DVD recorder?
hey,if you get a philips (i have one)dvd-r will be no good to you it uses the dvd+r format..:)
Buy a Panasonic (DVD-R & DVD-RAM), you won't regret it!

Oh, I realise that. It's just that I'm a cheapskate and would like to bulk buy the blank DVD's for the domestic one but maybe buy a DVD+RW drive for the PC a little later.
