Question:
I've moved into a new house and I don't think there is room for the poor old projector..love it though I do. Fiancée is against permanent mounting, and there si not really space for a tripod screen..though I can project it on the wall above my currect 28" TV its all a bit messy with S-Video leads and temp stands etc.
Can anyone recommend a 36" widescreen then? She is also against 43" Tosh fullscreen taking over the room but maybe I can reach some sort of compromise with a nice looking 36" widescreen jobby. :)
Cheers,

The Tosh 36" - no question! ;)

Yes the Toshiba 36zp18pq looks amazing alright! I suppose theres not a cheaper stereo only version though is there?..I'm happy with my current Yamaha pro-logic/5.1 set up!:p
I've got the Hitachi Natura 36" and it's great, can't recommend it enough. I've got the digital tuner version, very fast and fantastic picture. It uses the Panasonic Tau tube. Geometry etc spot-on straight out of the box.
The standard version has been reviewed at Home Cinema Choice (http://www.homecinemachoice.com/testbench/index.html). Just do a search for the C36WF830N.
Not available everywhere but I do see them from time to time.

Does anyone have the Mitsubishi BD3251WS (http://www.mitsubishi.ie/subproducts.asp?navID=61)?
The reason I ask is because I don't care about surround or a cabinet, and black/dark grey is preferable to silver/light grey in my case..I know its only 32" but cheap, and 1 scart is OK for me as I have a Scart switcher and Digital box, VHS, DVD all connected to my current old Philips 28" fullscreen no bother..will check out the 50hz image tonight.
I have the Toshiba 36" and it's great but on reflection, i'd say if you're upgrading from a 32" widescreen wait a year or two and get a 42" plasma instead for the same money. They'll be affordable then. A couple of years from now, big tube based displays will have gone the way of the fishbowl tellys of yesteryear.
I'd love a Plasma..any good competitions for one online? With the new house (and soon a fairly new car) and all the cost of the TV is being paid for with the sale of an LCD projector. Juggling funds and also my fiancée (who likes an average TV that just 'looks good' in the room!).
Does anyone have any additional information on the Co-op price matching scheme? I would certainly be interested in the Tosh for under £900! I checked the website but could not find any info there.
Cheers,
JB
