Question:
I have a Toshiba SD110e and am looking to chip it myself, are there any sites that show diagrams of how to do this so that I know what I am getting in to before buying all the equipment.

Steve Hoyle's site here (http://www.shoyle.f9.co.uk/dvdchipsuk/toshautoinstall.htm) is your best bet, although you'll still need the chip itself :)

Wouldn't it just be easier to get someone else to do it for you? It sounds like you are going to have to buy all the soldering equipment you need (not cheap), solder (not cheap again), buy a IC (chip) from someone (the easy part and by far the cheapest bit as well), get it programmed with the correct software (if you're lucky somone may give you the correct software for nowt then you'll have to pay someone to program the ic for you.)
Then you can actually do the five minute job of adding the chip! ;)
riiiiiiight, these things are a lot more complicated (and expensive!) than I thought. I just thought it would be: get soldering iron somehow, buy chip, solder it in, job done :(
You will need (or should use) a soldering iron with an earthed tip. Also you'll need a very small tip on it (have you seen the size of the chip!).
If you haven't done any soldering before you'll need to get some practice on something else I reckon before you butcher your player.
You could get one of those firmware CD's / Remotes...
I don't have any links though, but if someone else has...
It saves you having to open the player up at all..
another good site (got 4 of these mods) is http://www.dvdupgrade.ch/
I didn't install them however. The documentation is pretty good with lots of pictures for the players.
