Question:
Is there a lead that exist that can connect a dvd player that doesnt have 6 output sockets to a powered sub with the 6 sockets.
I.E 2 phono jacks to 6 phono jacks, so as to wire it up to a surround sound system with a powered sub?

I wish there was some way but you're dvd player must have a 5.1 channel output .
Or you must connect you're dvdplayer to a 5.1 amp then connect that to you're active sub :suspect:
As Unrealnils said, it's not possible to get 5.1 surround without extra hardware i'm afraid. The only DVD players that can do this are one's with a DD decoder built into them and these will have the required 6 phono outputs on them. So your options are to replace your DVD player, or buy a DD amp or decoder.
You could connect the stereo outputs from the DVD to the main left/right inputs on the sub. This should give you amplified stereo/pro-logic surround, (if your sub does Pro-logic decoding).

This is for a friend. They have just bought a Wharfedale M3, and I have my old surround sound system which is the Limit set that Richer Sounds sell, which I was going to give them. That has the 6 inputs on the back of the sub. Any ideas if that is compatible with the Wharfedale??
