European DVD player voltage problem?
Question:

Would I have had a problem connecting a european DVD player (i.e. 230V) to the UK mains (i.e. 240V)? Or should this not matter? I have a Sony 5-disc CD changer that I bought in France that is running fine, but have run into a problem with a Kenwood 5-disc DVD-changer (also European).
Any help welcome!

Answers:

I've read that -/+ 10% tolerance is ok.

The voltage spec is common throughout the members of the EU (and I think maybe most other countries too). So a European model device should work in any country in Europe. This is in contrast to the TV transmission standard, a UK PAL TV or video tuner will not work in most other countries and vice versa.
