KEF KHT-2005 "Egg" help please ...
Question:

Now that I have my new TV installed on its stand I hope I can fit my front "eggs" on the appropriate KEF stands either side of the TV but need to check the space required - the stand seems to be quite a large base - could someone measure the base diammeter & post it here please so I can check first ...
I'd also like to know where I can buy a pair of stands without having my trousers pulled down over the price :D
TIA - Paul

The Kef stands are about £90 and I could not justify that price, so I bought some cheapo's from maplins for £20 that are just about the same colour
and do the job, I have the fronts wall mounted --and also had the rears wall mounted till my Neighbour complained so I obviously had to take them down and get some stands
as for measuring the bases, at the moment I have just managed to get a serious leg injury and cannot walk unaided (Calf muscle torn in two) so some other kind forum-ite might measure them for you

Mr Procter - sorry to hear about your predicament - re the cheapo stands you purchased - how are the eggs attached ? - I believe they connect to the pukka stands using the predrilled hole / bolt thingy ...

No such luck. Purchased the Kef KHT2005 speaker package and two sets of Kef HTS2001 speaker stands from www.superfi.co.uk about 18 months ago. The speakers look fabulous on the stands but, at £80 a pair, they are pricey.

The Maplin Stands have a flat base top with 4 holes, So what I did was buy some small coach bolts (the rounded top ones but nearly flat)
slid them into the kefs slider holes, then just put the nuts on
they do the job, and you can also raise them to about 7ft, but I have them set just above head height when sitting
I think Argos sell some cheapo stands as well
