Question:
Hi there,
This aspect ratio thing is DRIVING ME CRAZY. I was wondering if zooming in for dvd video playback is supposed to be such that a 2x or something of the sort is displayed, and does not go away. I have a standard 4:3 television.
Also, are there any cracks available for a Finlux DVD 412 dvd player?
Thanks a lot

HUh? and that "cracks" me up i know you are from Hague but you ment to say "Hacked?"

No model listed but try using other ones and see if they work. But word of warning after numerous a tempts at region changes this will lock this region and will not be able to change. i.e region 1
Me again.
I meant "hacks". It's the same thing to me though. We have non-anamorphic dvd's here, and I have to zoom in to watch 2.35:1 films on my 4:3 tv.
I tried an imported region 2 dvd, and it supported pan&scan, letterbox, and widescreen.
PS: By the way, I'm a South African expat in Holland.:D
set your dvd player to 16.9 and the anamorphics disc switch your widescreen mode on your tv thats if your tv supports widescreen manual switching?
I do do that, but it stretches the image. I don't find it a problem, but others do, and it gets on my nerves. Some movies you just can't do that with.
Appreciate the help.
have you tried all the tv aspect modes on the dvd player and still no luck?
Yes. Only an imported dvd worked out of all those I tried.
I have a non R2 anamorphic Abyss and my dvd player is 16.9 and i do not switch my tv 4:3 to widescreen and it is not stretched so i am flummoxed to your situation. So i cannot be more helpful :)
Ok. Well thanks anyway.
