Question:
I recently watched Jeepers Creepers and began to notice that the sky was a pale green/blue colour. You could also notice this on the actors faces if the sky was in the background.
The more I studied the film. There was a blue/green band of about 2 inches running the full lenght of the screen, but only with light colours (especially daylight). Now with each film I watch, it is now very noticable and seems to be getting worse.
The player is now about 4 years old now and has great use (Tosh 2109b).
Should I lay it to rest?
I have a Tosh 2109 in the form of a Pacific dvd 1000 and its fine with Jeepers creepers, so it probably isnt the dvd.
It could be and sounds like you have a magnet near to it, do you have any cheap speakers close to the TV??
IMO its a **** dvd player and its well over due and upgrade, mine sits in a box just incase mine breaks as i cant be doing without my dvd player :D
Do you have a center speaker on top of the TV (if that's where the band is?) Also have you tried a different scart lead? If neither of these then it could well be the DVD player, but I would normally have expected it over the whole picture.
Hi guys
The band is ususally at the top of the screen (well away from the centre speaker). I have had my setup in the same position for a good 2 years now and this problem is only began in the last 2 weeks.
The scart was an expensive one and seems ok - but how often do you need to replace your interconnects? I've had the scart for almost 2 years.
I think it can only be the player. I have tried all the disks on all the other DVD players in the house and are all playing them with no problems.
Sounds like probably the player. Only said scart if it has been unplugged recently?
Try another player with the TV and scart (or player with another TV/Scart) just to confirm!
I would imagine the connections (scart lead) would last much much longer than any player. Surely you don't have to replace wires every few years.
Thing to look for is - does this band appear on a normal TV broadcast - ie if it's a speaker magnetic problem or if it's the TV then this would appear on normal images as well as DVD.
Hi Sheepdip
The band is only when playing a DVD - nothing else.
