Connection probs, can someone check what I'm doing? Pacific 1002 owners pls look!
Question:

TV: Goodmans 28" GTV 66 W2
DVD: Pacific 1002 (previously Samsung 709)
When I hooked up my old 709 I took the scart and put it in AV2 on the TV. According to the TV manual this took two inputs, AV2 (CVBS) and AV2S (SVHS) so when I set the 709 to output RGB on its scart I used the AV2S input.
Now, on the Pacific player you can again sellect CVBS or RGB output on the scart so I did exactly the same but I can't seem to get an input on AV2S on the TV.
I suppose my question is, is any of the above wrong, am I doing something really dumb? At the moment I'm assuming that I'm not getting any RBG output from the player and I plan to take it back to Asda tomorrow and exchange it.

I think you will find that the only RGB enabled scart is scart socket 1 ( i.e AV1).
You say the AV2 input on the TV is for CVBS - this is composite video , or SVHS. It will not then accept a RGB signal .
Almost all TVs only have one RGB scart ( usually the number 1 socket). The others will be SVHS or composite video only.
Try the DVD player in the other scart socket.

You're a star mate thanks! I was having real trouble as the manuals on these cheaper devices are always translated from something and didn't make a lot of sense to me. I've swapped stuff around and things are much better. I'm back in love with my new player again!
