Question:
just bought a B&W LCR60 S3 and im undecided as to where it should go. the speaker is quite deep and doenst sit properly ontop of my tv, due to the slope of it.. therefore the speaker sort of points towards the celing. The other idea i had was to place it on the shelf below the TV.. dont know whether this would affect the sound etc ? thing is there isnt much room and would involve placeing it ontop of the amp.. that or i stand it upright just to the side of the TV. where and how have you mounted/placed your center speaker ?
Mine is mounted on it's own shelf of a purpose built flexi-rack, it wasn't stable on top of my TV (17Kg Tannoy Revolution RC) and the magnets were causing picture interference. I wouldn't recommend putting anything on top of your amplifier as these things get quite warm and need a good airflow to prevent overheating. There is a picture of my setup here (http://members.fortunecity.com/mundos/TV.jpg).
I remember someone on the AVforums talking about the Rega Senta (http://www.rega.co.uk/html/stands.htm)
stand, do a search on there for "Senta".
Move the amp and put it under the TV. Centre speaker position is more important than amp position after all.:)
Agreed - don't put the LCR on top of the amp as you'll block the amp's airflow. I had my old LCR under my TV and it sounded fine, and much more stable than trying to put such a large centre on top of the TV.
