Question:
Was gonna get that slimline Pioneer amp, but sod that I want a proper amp back.
Well, just been to Richer Sounds and 3 cheap models jumped out at me - want to budget for £250 tops and get it early next week.
So...
Marantz 4200 (gold) - £200 - used to have a 7200 last year so used to the marantz sound, although got annoyed at losing sound on layer change. DPL2 is a plus.
Yamaha 620 - £200 - haven't had a Yammy for years, no DPL2 but the component switching would be a big plus for my projector.
Denon 1802 (gold) £250 - never owned a Denon, but has DPL2 but it is an extra £50 over the other 2.
What are your thoughts...

How much is the 4300 now?
That'd be a good choice.
I've a 7200 so am biased toward Marantz - if you're using it for music then it's a no-brainer. If it's pure AV then the Yamaha would be my choice.
:)
Hi Radiohead, thanks for the comments. The 4300 is around £270 I think, but not really after 6.1 - a decent 5.1 system will do me fine. Actually went to Richers planning to get the Yammy, but seeing the Denon and Marantz (especially both in gold) made me look at my options again before I commit.

I would just shade the Marantz ahead of the Denon.
Would pass on the Yamaha...........they have some fans but have not been impressed with the models I've heard.
Just my opinion mind.
Just found out the Marantz doesn't have ability to connect to a Dvd audio player (have that recent Limit pal prog player) - never been that fussed about the idea of better quality sound, but the Beatles albums are supposed to be out soon...
I hate making decisions...
