Question:
are they a fixed price ? everywhere i look they seem to be the same
As far as i know they are. I got a pair of 600's, 602's and a LCR60 a few months ago from Sevenoaks, all at the RRP, after looking around for a deal.
B&W don't do sales, they are the same price everywhere, and they don't supply it on online e-tailer.
yep only place i got a few pounds off was superfi. But when i was in spain they where very cheap i found the 601s2 for 150 eur about £115
If you are after the latest models you won't get much off. Go for the older model and you will find they actually sound better and will cost you less.
The older model doesn't sound better to me.......the treble is noticeably smoother on the S3, and the Sorrento colour looks far nicer than the S3 black.
One positive thing about B&W prices is that if you come to sell them later you'll always get a good price second-hand.
Just read a post on the AVForums that superfi are doing 10-15% off. May want to go check it out. Retailers don't normally discount B&Ws cos B&W "discourage" this, ie don't supply them if they do. Something like that anyway! :-o
I have just been and bought a set of 603s3. All retailers I went to were Ok to discount at part of their sales. One offered 5% the others 10%
went into superfi today... they were selling them for £220 in the sale.. 30 quid off, needless to say i walked out carrying a huge box :D well chuffed they sound superb! thx people
To go with my new Yamaha 630, I'm looking for some speakers. I've been recommended the following:
B&W 309 (Fronts)
B&W 303 (Rears)
B&W LCR3 (Centre)
I aint heard them in action yet, but anyone got any oppinions on them? I've also heard of the 600 series which I thought was never, but according to the hifi store guy I spoke to, these have only just come out. He quoted me £650 for this setup, is this pretty standard? Is it worth shelling out extra for the 600 series? If so, which ones?
Anyone?
