Question:
Bapapapa was right, I had lost my mind when I gave up on separates and bought an all in one. The Sony DAVS 880 has lasted all of about 6 weeks...
To be honest, I actually really didn't mind the sound quality from the Sony at all, but the relatively poor picture (after being used to decent separates) even from component was anoying.
After reading a thread on the AVforums about the Limit prog scan player went out and bought it (was at Easy Everything on Tottenham Court Road, bought it 10 mins after reading about it). a Panny 100 is on the way to replace my 4:3 LCD projector and to get the prog scan.
No I need to replace the sound side of things... really need to spend less than £500 though (moving and everything else has taken its toll on my finances). Speakers need to be fairly small to fit in with my studio flat (really a large bedsit, but I have my own kitchen).
Have considered that new version of the Pure/videologic digitheatre as komplett have it for under £280 (if is right model), but never really bought much at this price point so i'm a bit lost... anything else points towards the aego P5 or one of the Yamaha speaker packages and an amp.
What would you suggest fellas...
jon
the Elac Cinema 1 speaker system is nice and small Sounds great for the size About £400 I think
You could be lucky and get some KEF eggs second-hand for £500. Otherwise both the Elac and P5's are good sets.
If you want KEF EGGS then I found the cheapest here £599

This price might tempt you.
