Beginners question
Question:

I have a 28" Sony 100hz nicam Telly
a £120 LG DVD player
a Philips Digibox
and a £120 Sony Video
Also my CD player and receiver/tuner are six feet away, the other side of the chimney breast.
The AV receiver things - are they just for the sound associated with TV etc ?
If I want surround sound, can I use the Mission speakers already hooked up to my hi-fi ?
I assume that the only use of loads of speakers is for the multi-channel media (ie DVD) - do they actually help with videos and digibox broadcasts ?
Apologies for the basic questions

Answers:

Many AV recievers will offer a pseudo surround option for stereo sound sources

Answers:

Videos provide dolby pro-logic, as does terrestrial and digital TV. Sky+ and DVD will give digital surround sound (DD and DTS etc). So yeh, you benefit all round.
