Question:
My dad wants to buy a dvd recorder, but due to space restrictions would perfer one with a built in 5.1 and DTS decoder, and if possible a built in amp. Are these available yet, if so which ones are best? Also, does anyone have and info on which format is best? He has the pioneer a03 or a04 in his PC, but has been having trouble backing up dvds and transferring digicam fottage onto dvd. All the dvds work fine on my antique pioneer 515 but wont work on the latest top of the range sony and panasopnic models...anyone got any ideas why? If anything i thought they would not work on my player due to its age. Whats happeing is that the picture gets all pixelly and then wont play, the sony player wont even play normal dvds now!
Cheers in advnce!

Are you using rubbish dvd-r's? If so try another brand.
If the sony wont play normal dvds then its not going to play any copies regardless of make of disc.
im not too sure what the qaulity of the discs he is using is...but ill tell him to try some better ones.
The sony simply wont work after having played a home created dvd, it worked just fine before.
someone must have some ideas?!
in case anyone was interested....got this problem solved by using blue discs rather than white ones (not sure what this menas) but my Dad tells me thisis the case and they all work perfectly now.
Cheers in advnce!
