Goldmember Killed My Panny
Question:

Just a warning to panasonic rv41 owners. Goldmember (r1 canandian) last night killed my dvd player :(
Was watching the film when into the 2nd chapter the picture started to break up and the sound was pausing. Stopped the film ejected the disk and reinserted. Disk wouldn't read.
Now my player will not read any disks :(
Read on the dvdtalk site that other owners with panasonic players also had the same problem.
Anyway any ideas for a new player?

Answers:

The R1 version of Goldmember will not play correctly on my (and others' it seems) Pioneer 737 either. It freezes at various points throughout the movie (actually, the points where the 'infinifilm' break outs are). Fortunately, it didn't do any permanent harm. It was replaced by a R2 copy which plays fine.

Sorry to ask an obvious question, but have you tried unplugging the player for a few minutes, then plugging it back in?

I own an RV60 and have played the R1 in it last week and had no hassle, although now that I think of it I might not have used the player since :shocker:
