Question:
Hiya, thanks for looking,
Im after a DVD player, which has the following and im yet to find it :)
- Must be multi-region
- Must play svcds
- Must play mp3s
- Ideally be multi-disc, 3disc/5discs etc, not one of these 100disc monsters :)
- Ideally have an optical out
If someone could recommend a player that does all of these I would be really greatful if you could tell me what it is :)
Im looking for spend around £150
Many thanks ,
Andy
I've never seen any multidisc players available as multiregion - although in theory this should be possible.
However if you will settle for a normal single disc player then the Pioneer DV 454 satisfies all your other criteria.

Tosh. 220e - £120 or less, MR.
No Multidisc tho..
Thanks for that, like the pioneer one :)
Also found a sony DVP-NC615 which is a multichanger! :)
Do either of the pioneer or tosh player play SVCDs? The sites I have seen just say it supports VCDs, but SVCDs are better quality arent they?
Andy
Pacific 1002 form Asda £69 with 3 year garentee. Plays everything I have thrown at it (including MPEGS!)

Yes SVCD's are better resolution than VCD's (bit like VHS versus SVHS AFAIK).
Anyway do a search on Google for the Pioneer and SVCD and you will find plenty of pages (mostly european mind you) which say it does.
On Pioneer's own website it states VCD's and that SVCD' s are not officially supported - which usually means that they play OK anyway :p
Don't have any VCD's or SVCD's myself so not an issue for me. :)
I've checked my DV-454 with VCDs and it plays them very well. The Pioneers are better with VCDs than the Toshibas.
Thanks guys,
Its between the pioneer dv-454, which isnt a multi-changer and a sony DVP-NC615 which is.... trouble is i cant find many user reviews about the sony.... do why dont people have them :(
Andy
I don't think multichanger types are popular at all. If they are true to other multidisc equipment pieces then I believe there will always be a small sacrifice in performance. (extra jitter etc).
Is there a particular reason you need a multidisc machine? One review I read was not particularly encouraging :oh-hum: Apparantly volume levels are different for DVD's and CD's and this guy's case he thought the mechanism was quite flimsey and it broke after just one month! He replaced it with another make.
Is the Sony multiregion? Still think a Pioneer DV 454 would fit your bill. :)
Wheres this review?
And yeah the sony is multi-region - and seems to do everything the pioneer can.
