Question:
I have a Pioneer 444 and just got a Videologic DTS system :) Is it likely to do any harm putting my player on top of the sub?
The vibrations from the sub are unlikely to do your player any good, and could concievably damage it.
It won't be doing it any favours at all - disc-spinners should be isolated from movement to allow the disc to spin properly and cut down jitter. I really wouldn't do this.
I'll thrid that, do not put it on the sub at all costs! It will definately not do the player any good at all.
thanks guys.. I won't be doing that then!
This started me thinking - my DVD player is separated from everything else, including the sub, but I have got my centre speaker under the telly as it won't sit properly on top. This means it has to sit on top of my video.
Is the video likely to suffer?
(no cracks about video quality vs DVD/Tivo etc please)
It shouldn't. The centre speaker won't create the same kind of intense vibrations that a sub would. Plus it should be shielded, so the magnetic field probably won't effect the tapes.

Just make sure that your speaker is actually magnetically shielded otherwise you'll do damage to your tapes!
