Double standards
Question:

So we can discuss the hacking of dvd players and freely give advice, but downloaded movies, regardless of what they are are forbidden?
mmmmm interesting

If you're talking about the thread I just closed, I did ask what type of movies they were asking about, its not worth the risk and other members coming in making further comments.
If the member wants to and tells me if its legit then they're free to do so, and if I (and the other mods) feel its OK, then I'm happy to re-open the thread.
There's no law about hacking dvd players, but there is with copyrights.
Anyway, this is in the wrong forum :dork:

Answers:

as always if you have a problem with a moderators decision to close a thread then it is best to email them instead of posting - I am sure that if you would have made clear in your post that what you were trying to burn to VCD wasn't copyrighted material then it could have remained.
Oh, and hacking/chipping/modding DVD players is not illegal, piracy is - there is the difference in standards being applied.
