Question:
I have a Pioneer NSDV55 connected to my XBox using a high definition kit to the Video2 input on the above DVD unit. Audio over the optical in and image over a S-Video cable, I get an image and stereo sound fine but no 5.1:(
I have the dvd player setup to use optical in and this is cool (I get no sound if the cable is disconnected) I have tried switching the decoder to auto, Standard and all the others but no joy. Can anyone shed any light. The Games I'm trying all state they have 5.1 sound and I've told the XBox to use 5.1
Have you enabled DD5.1 and/or DTS via the Xbox dashboard? Start your Xbox with no disc, choose "Settings", then "Audio".
Thanks, I'd enabled Dolby surround and in my hast not see the other 2 options:brickwall I'd convinced myself that it must have been the settings on my Surround system and not the Xbox.
