Question:
I've just ordered myself a TV with component input and my Sony DVP-NS900 DVD player also has component output; which is nice.
<p>
Can anyone recomend some cables to link these two together ? Preferably something fairly reasonably priced as I not into spending £100's per metre on cables
Supra AV3 Component at £65. What HiFi? Best Buy Awards 2002.
Of course there's also the Nordost Optix Component Video at £210 for a 1m length....
If you want to be el cheapo :p - component cables are really just 3 phono (or RCA as the yanks call them) so you could use two cheap stereo connectors from somewhere like Maplins for around a fiver each which will leave one of the stereo pair 'free'. :)
I bought 6' Monster (component) cables in the states about 2 years ago which cost me $160! - before I realised that they could not be used over here on a 'normal' TV  :dork:
I bought 3x VanDamme 10m 75 Ohm OFC cables (as used in professional installations) for £42 - think it's gone up to £54 now. This was for a projector so I doubt you'll need 10m lengths! This was from The Media Factory www.tmfsolutions.co.uk
From their website:
Component Video sets:
Phono to Phono - DVD to Plasma or Projector
1m - set of three 110-268 cables - £45.34
3m - set of three 110-270 cables- £47.25
Just found this link from another thread for a set of 3 phono cables http://www.grandata.co.uk/acatalog/Grandata__THOR_AUDIO___VIDEO_CABLES_673.html
I got an el cheapo set free with my Toshiba SD220E. pity me TV doesnt have component ins.
I have the Thor cable from Grandata, and its a lot of cable for the money. Fantastic bit of kit.
I used one of these (http://custom1.farnell.com/cpc/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CPC+Catalogue&product%5Fid=AV0439866) on a setup for a friend recently, looked very good indeed and @ <£12 it was a steel:)
Might be of interest also...........

I just ordered a Thor last night from Grandada or whatever they're called.
I ordered one of the Thor component video cables from Grandata, arrived within 3 days. The cable itself is heavy, with good quality connectors. The picture is lovely :-) Well chuffed - a good bit of kit, delivered quickly. I'd recommend Grandata as a good supplier.
